Samsung’s got a handy temporary cloud backup feature that lets you back up unlimited data when you’re switching phones or need to save everything quickly. Here’s how to use it on your Galaxy S26 or S26 Ultra.
- Tap the home button to get back to your home screen.
- Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the settings icon.
- Scroll down in Settings and tap on General management.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Reset.
- Tap on Temporary cloud backup.
- Tap Backup data. If you haven’t signed into your Samsung account yet, go ahead and sign in now.
- Tap Continue when prompted.
- Tap Allow to give Samsung Smart Switch the permissions it needs.
- Wait while your phone searches for all your data. Then select what you want to back up—you can choose everything or just specific items.
- Tap the Backup button and let it do its thing. It’ll back up everything you selected, no matter how much data you have.

Once the backup finishes, you’ll be able to restore all your stuff to a new device using Samsung Cloud. Super useful when upgrading phones.
