Causes and Fixes Google Pixel 6 Can’t Receive Calls
If you own a Google Pixel 6 and can’t receive calls, there are several things that can cause the issue.

The first step is to boot the phone into Safe Mode and see if the problem goes away.

To boot the Pixel 6 into Safe Mode, hold the power button, then tap and hold power off, then select reboot in safe mode.

Testing the phone in Safe Mode will help to eliminate any rogue app that is causing an issue.

7 Causes and Fixes Google Pixel 6 Can’t Receive Calls

  1. Do Not Disturb is Enabled
  2. Google Pixel 6 Can’t Receive Calls Do Not Disturb Enabled
The Do Not Disturb option can be set, which will turn off any incoming calls from being heard.

It is quick and easy to turn on or off by pulling down from the top of the screen.

You can also go to Settings–> Sound –> Do Not Disturb and select it.

Within the Do Not Disturb settings, there is also an option that controls the way the main on/off tab works.

For example, the main tab will work until you manually change it or it can be set to be on for only an hour and revert back.

  3. Third Party App
  4. A Rouge third-party app can cause problems and maybe stopping the main dial-er app from working correctly.

Booting into Safe Mode is usually a good way to test for any bad app since only the phone’s default apps are loaded.

Going through the installed apps and looking for an unknown app is also a good way to see if there is a bad app installed.

  5. Clear Cache
  6. Clearing the cache can often help with issues with many Android smartphones including the Google Pixel 6.

Clearing the cache will clear your call history and Phone App settings.

Steps to Clear Cache Google Pixel 6

    • Go to Settings
    • Find and select Apps & notifications
    • Choose See all apps
    • Navigate down to find the Phone app
    • Select Storage
    • Tap “Clear cache”.

  7. Display Over Other Apps
  8. Display over other apps allows apps to communicate and use other features they do not have.

For example, the Phone app needs this option to be on to enable the phones ringer.

Check the Phone app has the option enabled.

How to Set the Phone App: Display Over Other Apps

    • Go to Settings
    • Find and select Apps & notifications
    • Go to Advanced
    • Special app access
    • Display over other apps
    • Navigate down to find the Phone app
    • Make sure Phone app is allowed.
  9. Phone App Has All Notifications Enabled
  10. Check that the Phone app has all notifications enabled which is how shows it alerts that a call is incoming.

How To Phone App Has All Notifications Enabled

    • Go to Settings
    • Find and select Apps & notifications
    • See all apps
    • Navigate down to find the Phone app

    • Tap on Incoming Calls and make sure the Pop on screen option is turned on

  11. Factory Reset the Phone App
  12. If none of the above works, restoring the app to the factory default version may be an option, but all data will be lost.

The entire phone can be factory reset or only the phone app itself.

I would suggest only factory resetting the phone apps since a full factory reset is much more extreme.

Factory resetting the phone app will clear your call history and Phone App settings.
